Our cast bronze plaques are designed for permanent installation. With the right tools and a few minutes of preparation, you can securely mount your plaque to almost any surface.
Always use the plaque itself as your template. Do not measure the holes on the back and try to transfer those measurements to the wall. Cast bronze creates unique pieces that can have slight variations in hole spacing.
Hold the plaque against the surface.
Use a pencil or marker to mark the exact spot through the screw holes.
Set the plaque aside and drill your pilot holes.
Standard installation for memorial benches and home siding.
Hardware: * We provide color-matched wood screws with every standard order.
Instructions:
Position: Place the plaque on the wood. Use a level to ensure it is straight.
Mark: Mark the hole locations with a pencil.
Pilot Hole: Drill a small pilot hole using a 1/8" drill bit.
Why? If you drive a screw directly into hardwood (like Teak or Oak) without a pilot hole, you risk snapping the screw head off or splitting the wood.
Secure: Hand-tighten the screws with a screwdriver until snug. Do not over-tighten with a power drill, or you may crack the wood.
For garden walls, building facades, and stone benches.
Hardware Required:
You will need to purchase Masonry Anchors or Lead Plugs from a local hardware store. (Size #6 or #8 usually fits our standard holes).
Instructions:
Mark: Hold the plaque level and mark your holes on the brick (try to drill into the mortar joint if possible, as it is easier to patch later if moved).
Drill: Use a Masonry Bit (hammer drill bit) to drill holes to the depth of your anchors.
Insert Anchors: Tap the plastic or lead anchors into the holes until flush with the wall.
Secure: Screw the plaque into the anchors using the provided bronze screws.
For lawn, tree, and flowerbed dedications.
Hardware:
If you ordered a stake from us, we include Machine Screws and Nuts.
Instructions:
Assemble First: Attach the plaque to the metal stake before you put the stake in the ground.
Tighten: Pass the machine screw through the plaque, through the stake plate, and secure with the nut on the back.
Install: Push the stake into the ground using your foot on the "step" of the stake.
Tip: If the ground is hard/dry, water the area first or dig a small starter hole. Do not hammer directly on the top of the bronze plaque, or you may dent the letters.
For natural stone surfaces where drilling is difficult.
Hardware:
Exterior Construction Adhesive (e.g., Liquid Nails or Gorilla Construction Adhesive) or 2-Part Epoxy.
Instructions:
Clean: Wire brush the area of the rock to remove moss, dirt, and loose debris. Ensure it is completely dry.
Apply: Apply a generous amount of adhesive to the back of the plaque (keep 1 inch away from the edges so it doesn't squeeze out).
Set: Press the plaque firmly onto the rock.
Tape: Use duct tape or masking tape to hold the plaque in place for 24 hours while the adhesive cures.
For a seamless look with no visible screw heads.
Overview: Your plaque has threaded studs screwed into the back. There are no holes on the front.
Instructions:
Drill: Drill holes into the wall exactly where the template indicates. Clean the dust out.
Fill: Fill these holes with Epoxy or Silicone.
Insert: Push the plaque studs into the adhesive-filled holes.
Wait: Tape the plaque to the wall to hold it in place until the epoxy sets.
